How can I help you?

Have you ever found yourself reaching a destination, wondering how you got there?

Or how about trying to start a new healthy habit only to fall back into your old patterns very quickly?

Why do we do this?

Our brains are fabulous things, they find shortcuts and pathways to make our lives easier at every turn. But in the process, they create a 'default' network in the brain. This gives us the ability to function on auto-pilot, transporting us through life without us ever really being in the drivers seat. Habits and behaviours we wish we could change tend to flourish in this state of inattention.

Why should you listen to me?

Not only am I a fully qualified doctor, but I've also burnt out myself.

You don't need to study General Practice, lifestyle medicine, mindfulness, NLP, behaviour change, yoga and meditation for over 18 years like I have to benefit from everything that I have learnt. By distilling my many years of training in a wide range of wellbeing modalities into short and easy to follow courses I can help you to apply an understanding of mindfulness and harness the power of holistic self care to enact lasting change in your own life.

I can’t wait for you to join me.

What is burnout?

Our modern lives lend themselves to constantly being "switched on". We're always plugged into our phones, available to email and "connected" to the outside world via social media. Much like a light globe that has been left on for too long, our inner pilot light can eventually feel like it is close to going out. We're constantly tired but can't sleep. We're short tempered, anxious, chronically overwhelmed and feeling like we're spread too thinly. This is burn out.

What is mindfulness?

What we think and worry about tends to follow similar patterns. Pathways that are used often in our brains strengthen and those that aren't used as often fade into the background. These well worn paths tend to take us to the same places over and over again. Mindfulness helps us to become compassionate observers to the workings of our mind. Gifting us the time and space to actually CHOOSE what our actions are rather than simply REACTING to the world around us.

How do we change behaviour?

Have you ever wondered why it can be so hard to change a habit? Humans are wonderfully diverse and nuanced creatures but we all follow a fairly predictable pattern when it comes to changing behaviour. Learning about the "why" behind what we do and how we act can really help you to grow, master new behaviours and not only change but also stick to new habits.
